Shauna understands how hard that first step of seeking counseling can be, but finds that her warm and empathetic style helps people feel comfortable right away. With over 15 years in this field, she has developed a supportive and effective therapeutic style that helps people regain hope and feel empowered to achieve their goals. She uses an individualized and collaborative approach, utilizing the client's strengths to help them find solutions unique to their circumstances.
Shauna is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who received her Master's in Human Development and Family Studies with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Colorado State University. She has received specialty certifications including:
- EMDR Level II practitioner
- Addictions Counseling Training
She has been in practice since 2002 working with individuals, couples, and families. She has worked with traumatized children, troubled youth, and struggling families at Larimer Center for Mental Health. In addition to clinical work, Shauna is a published author on topics including childhood grief and loss, coping with traumatic events, and emotional availability.
